Can't read the labels!!

I just found out that we will move out of the temp classroom next friday, and begin teaching in the new school building on October 9th. However, the bad news is that the teacher apartments are not going to be ready on time. Apparently I will be living in the hotel until sometime in November or longer. I am not thrilled with this, as I am tired of these walls and hoping for a little more freedom in my space, but I really can't complain because of all the good service I have been recieving.

Funny story, Curtis has been feeling sick to his stomach every morning for the last week or so. He thought it was the food. He discovered the real reason this morning. Our teachers room has a washing machine in it for the teachers to use. The laundry detergent is on the counter next to the coffee pot. This morning Curtis discovered that for the past two weeks he has been spooning laundry detergent into his coffee every morning thinking it was creamer. He said, "I kept telling you guys that the coffee here tasted a little funky- a little soapy!"

I found a wonderful coffee/tea shop last night that I am sure I will frequent often. It serves "nai cha", or milk tea, (chai) which I love and has a very open and spacious western environment. Space is precious in a place that has few boundaries between people. Oh! I also have lined up two different mandarin tutors for language exchange, so maybe we can meet at this new coffee shop! (But there is a bakery next door that I will have to skirt around as I walk by...)

OK, I'm off to the beach before it gets dark...

Hehe, Curtis must be a big diner coffee fan. You know, the ones where they wring out the dish rag into the pot when they mop up a spilled cup to recycle it...
