Hello friends and family! Juniper is now one month old, and we are starting to get some sense of routines around feeding, sleeping, diapering, etc...it is quite a learning curve for new mommas and poppas!
Juniper has been a good baby for us so far. She only cries when she clearly needs something and to communicate. She stops crying immediately when she sees that we have figured it out, and then waits patiently for us to prepare for a feeding or change her diaper etc. Lets hope that lasts!
She also sleeps well, and often. Perhaps too often sometimes, as this chill baby likes to doze out while eating with a big smile on her face. Then she sucks half heartedly and feedings can take a looong time, where we have to wake her up a couple times to finish!
Some new discoveries for Juniper? About two days ago, she discovered toys. She has a favorite colored June bug that is musical (she likes to eat the blue wing). She is looking at a few brightly colored stuffed animals and wanting them, but not yet able to close her hands around something in a planned way. She has managed to grab a toy a few times and bring it to her mouth for a taste, but can't control her movements enough to do what she wants or to not drop the toy in her flailing. This frustrates her, as you can see in the video (ha ha!):

As for Ted and I, we are doing really well. We feel so fortunate to have this summer together to slide into parenting together. We are communicating well and just so happy to have Juniper and to be going on this adventure together!
All the best to you, we love you and miss you, and hope you keep in touch despite the physical distance!
Love,
Becky, Ted, and Juniper
