August Summer Heat

Hello :) We are just winding down the summer over here in Switzerland and enjoying the August heat. For the next ten days, Baden is celebrating Stadtfest, which is an enormous party that covers the entire city and welcomes 750,000 people over the course of the week. It is easily the biggest party I have ever seen. They have built big buildings on the sidewalks infront of all the other buildings and stores that house bars and eateries all over the city. there are rides and music venues. It is utterly jawdropping how the planners have managed to transform the city into a blowout end of summer party. They do this once every 5 and 10 years. I have been told that this is the five year party, and the ten year one is much bigger. I can't imagine how.

I have also gone back to work full time as of last week, making Ted's stint as a stay-at-home dad begin as well. We have had a pretty smooth start of things, as Juniper is such a reasonable and calm and well-behaved baby. I would be lying, though, if I didn't admit that some tears have been shed this week in missing the baby, tiredness and frustration at making such a huge transition. Really, its not for any good reason, however, because we have got it pretty good and we know it. :) Just sayin', we're happy new parents.

Here are some photos from the last few weeks:
