Well, that's it I guess. I moved out of Dalian, China yesterday. Packed my bags, said my goodbyes. It feels like a dream to be leaving to begin a new adventure, after making China my world for the past three years. Twenty four hours later I am climbing off a plane in Syracuse NY, the airport swarming with people of every haircolor, skin tone and accent. And I can understand them all! Wow!
Today I am at my mom's house, adjusting to jetlag and absorbing my new reality. Feels weird.
It has been rainy all day and my parents and I have basically been bumming around the house with little momentum.
I plan to stay in NY for two months in a room in Ithaca. I will visit my family and friends, and study to take an exam for Art teaching certification. On August 15th I will go to Chicago for a wedding and then travel around the west coast of the USA a bit to visit friends. At the end of the summer, I plan to head to Europe to take some art classes in an art city and maybe do some writing, maybe some traveling. After one year, I will get myself recruited to teach in a foreign country again.
Anyway, keep checking in! I couldn't access Blogspot in China, but now should be able to post more frequently.
Cheers!
Becky
