Ithaca

I have been in Ithaca for about a week now. I moved into this darling little room on the third floor of the Stewart Little cooperative. There are 15 international grad students living here and one person makes a huge dinner for everyone each night at seven o clock. It is really lovely to know that there is a nice healthy dinner prepared for me each night and smoe good conversation to boot. The other nice thing is to immediately have a social group with which to attend activities and events and to chat with in the evenings.

So I have been having fun. I went to a roller derby match a few nights ago, I have been hiking and biking with my friend Eric, I have been visiting my brother and his wife and my new niece. I think Lorien, Cassidy and I are going to go for a walk in the wildflower preserve this afternoon. If it rains, we may go to the science museum. I will play on an ultimate frisbee team tomorrow as a stand in for a girl who has injured herself, and tomorrow night will watch fireworks from a sailboat as we celebrate a friends birthday. Sounds nice!

I have also been studying art history, as I will take an exam on July 25th to get my art teaching certification. So far so good, but there is a lot of material I need to brush up on! Wish me luck!

Ciao! Becky
